Wheels & Machines: The Custom Sedans

Sedans are probably the most common and popular type of private vehicle you’ll see here in the Philippines. Why? Because this is probably the most practical vehicle configuration ever made. 4 doors that give you unrestricted access to all seats, a hood to access the engine, and a trunk for space. How much simpler can it be?

So when it comes to customizing and personalizing these sedans, the sky’s the limit when it comes to options. Not everything you see here may be everyone’s cup of tea, but we’ve learned to respect people’s individuality, which translates into how they choose to customize their cars. These cars become extensions of the owners’ personalities, which makes things unique and exciting.

This Mitsubishi Galant, as well as the Hyundai Accent above, actually share one thing in common – they both are on Air Suspension. Yes, they’re expensive, but so what? If you wanna be able to look good when parked, then have the ability to lift the ride height to get over obstacles on the road, you can’t have it any other way.

The only other Galant who joined the show is this.

But there were two Lancers…

…both sporting custom graphics.

The Honda crowd was greatly represented. Though there was only one Accord, it was super clean at that.

But the Civic crew was out in full force.

With a number of FDs…

In various configurations…

…and body kits.

A pair of Honda Citys…

This one slammed and stanced.

This was the sole 7th Gen Civic.

But the EKs were well represented.

This EG had an impressive display stand.

Here’s another EG sporting a plethora of LED lights.

As for the American Sedans, there were only three. This Ford Lynx…

…Focus…

And this Chevy Optra.

This B13 Nissan Sentra was clean in Chrome and Orange.

But I had a soft spot for this B12, as I used to drive one myself back in the day.

Lastly, the Toyota crowd was well represented by a group of Coronas.

During the last Car Mavens show, this was the Best of Show and Best in Paint winner. Simple as it seems, nothing beats neatness, cleanliness, and elegance.

I don’t seem to see big body Corollas on the road as much anymore, so it’s refreshing to see one one the show.

But with the AE92 now becoming one of the old school rides, expect to see more customized versions of these in upcoming shows.
